It all started with a fabric rabbit.  A childhood gift handcrafted by my Grandmother.  I was fascinated by the colours and textures of the fabric.  By the age of eight I had made it a friend with a complementary set of outfits.  From then my fate was sealed … I was a maker, addicted to fabrics and the art of making.  Many years followed, along with many finished and unfinished projects and an ever-growing fabric stash. 

The need to create, while most likely hereditary and often innate, can also be acquired upon exposure to beautiful fabrics or an irresistible pattern, or simply by being with like-minded makers.  Thread Botanica aims to inspire makers and revive the art of the handmade.
